I lavoro nato a Bali si ispira ad uno dei rituali secondo me più belli dell'isola. In spiaggia al tramonto il cielo si riempie di layang-layang (aquiloni) di diverse forme, colori e misure, alcuni sono così grandi e arrivano così inalto che persino gli aerei nelle vicinanze dell’aeroporto li temono.
Per i balinesi, questi aquiloni hanno il compito spirituale di sussurrare alle orecchie degli dèi le loro preghiere.Sono stata subito rapita da questo rito, da questa verticalità, questa invasione del cielo da parte dell’uomo in cercadi risposte. Per qualche ragione mi ha fatto pensare alla missione spaziale Europea Rosetta, forse, uno dei“rituali” più poetici nella storia della scienza. Rosetta è stata una sonda lanciata dall’uomo in orbita per trovare lerisposte sulla nascita della vita, contenute dentro la cometa 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
Una sonda in fondo non è altro che un aquilone spaziale ben progettato a rispondere alle leggi atmosferiche di un cielo ben più ampio, l’universo.Così, ho deciso di trasformare Rosetta e la Cometa in due aquiloni e di denominare i loro tentativi di volo con:“Whisper’s Experiment#1R” e “Whisper’s Experiment#2C” (esperimento del sussurro).
Entrambi realizzati con una base strutturale in bambù, tipicamente balinese, sono stati poi rivestiti con il Mylar(materiale argentato usato nelle sonde e satelliti spaziali) in modo tale che brillassero nel cielo quasi fossero lorostessi le divinità.
L’idea è di ribaltare le visioni e trasformare un oggetto di culto in un esperimento e unesperimento in un tentativo di dialogo con “dio”.

Rosetta was a probe launched by man into orbit to find theanswers about the birth of life, contained within comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
A probe after all is nothing more than a space kite well designed to respond to the atmospheric laws ofa much larger sky, the universe.Thus, I decided to turn Rosetta and the Comet into two kites and name their flight attempts with:
"Whisper's Experiment#1R" and "Whisper's Experiment#2C".
Both made with a structural base of bamboo, typically Balinese, were then coated with Mylar(a silver material used in space probes and satellites) so that they shone in the sky as if they were their ownthemselves the deities. The idea is to overturn the visions and transform a cult object into an experiment and anexperiment in an attempt to dialogue with "god".
